I'm forever grateful for everything I've been through, otherwise I'd never have been here or had the results I have today, but if I'd trusted my own ability a little sooner I'd have moved forward faster.
When I stopped looking at everyone else, that's when it clicked for me. That's when I understood that I already had everything inside me. The trap I've seen many people fall into in recent years is believing that somebody else from the outside is going to teach them everything they need to know. Our business is so incredibly simple. Imagine if I'd understood that a few years ago.
It's not that buying courses is a bad thing, but the Facebook ads for webinars and workshops create another problem. It's about attention, it's about where your focus is. If you hire a coach who hasn't done what you're going to do, that person isn't qualified to help you.
The world is full of external coaches. When we move into new countries, the first ones to show up are all the personal development junkies who've taken a few courses and decided to become a life coach. They don't want to do what we do, but they want to help us develop our leadership…(?)
External coaches haven't done what you're planning to do. And if they have, why aren't they doing it anymore? Well, ”because they've decided to help so many more people by not being tied to one brand.”
Bullshit. Either it collapsed for them and the company disappeared, or they built to a level where they couldn't carry the leadership because of conflicts in the organisation, often to do with a lack of ethics and morals and/or values.
Their network scattered in all directions, which left them without the energy to build something new, which in turn led them to go out and teach other people how to build instead.
They're good. They're good at selling you on the idea that they're good. They've been big leaders, even if they're mostly the only ones who can confirm it…
Stop educating yourself.
If you're doing anything in direct selling, you have regular events with personal and professional development and leadership. Everything you need to go full time. Anything outside of that really just means your duplication gets worse, because people can't do what you do since they don't recognise it from the company's training system. You come in and implement something that creates confusion in the organisation.
I'm probably going to irritate one or two people now, but that's on me. I'm free! I've never been as fired up as I am right now. The feeling I carry with me now is that I'm completely unstoppable. I'm no longer ”just” a leader who leads, I'm a recruiter in the field. Because I've cracked the code. The code is that it's so incredibly simple it's hard to believe it's true. You can't really read your way to it, you have to go out and do it.
No coach can tell you what to do, because they haven't done it! If they had, they wouldn't be a coach, they'd still be building! (A small dose of opinion in that last sentence…)
I'm going to build the world's biggest direct selling organisation from the team I have today, and it's so much simpler than I thought.
You need to find that key yourself. That secret, just like in Think and Grow Rich. Napoleon Hill writes that you'll probably find the key in that book along the way. Maybe you need to read the whole book, maybe you'll get it in the first chapter or when you look at the cover! You need to think! THINK and grow rich.
In our profession we need to do. Because it doesn't matter how much you know if you don't do anything with it. You can't sit there and say you know how to become a professional footballer while you refuse to put down the bag of crisps and get off the sofa.
I'm free. Now I'm going out there to be the one who focuses 10x more on recruiting than I ever have before. Those months will change everything. I can already see that the USA is going to explode, but where the contacts take us from there remains to be seen. I'll keep recruiting in Sweden and globally and weave these networks into each other for maximum synergy. If anyone I've talked to is reading this, that gives you a little clue. Just like the white rabbit in The Matrix. Those of you who get it, get it.
Why did I choose a picture of an armchair with nobody in it? To symbolise that it's better to go out and do the work. I won't be as active online going forward, because now I'm going into building mode.
If you decide to act, you'll be surprised at how much happens much faster than you can imagine. The universe delivers.
